Barrow School presented a workshop on Webcams and Blogging. Mrs Barton gave a presentation on the use of Webcams and Blogging to enhance teaching and learning. Mr Fenton talked about the ‘techie’ aspects.
Two pupils, Alice and Tom, were at the conference whilst Lily and Mitchell used a live video link from school to demonstrate the use of Adobe Connect (nee. Macromedia Breeze).
I’ve just deleted a post by Roxanne’s friend displaying an MSN address. NEVER EVER POST PERSONAL INFORMATION. Remember that the blog is open to anyone on the web and that giving personal information to strangers is very dangerous.

Class 3 now have individual accounts at ethink.org. Your usernames are your school network login name and your passwords are your netwok passwords. You will be able to login, write and publish posts.
‘Up To Date’ is the half-termly newsletter created and edited by a team of Year 6 pupils. The latest edition, their second, is availble here.
The BarrowBlog header consists of a picture size 780 x 95 pixels. It was created using Adobe Photoshop Elements to stitch a number of digital photos together and to add the school logo. The complete image was saved as a jpeg and loaded up into the Barrow digitalbrain site. From there a link to the url was created by following the Presentation / Freshy Theme Options / (scroll down) Advanced Options / (scroll down) …Or type the absolute url of your own image.
Looking through the school log book we have found quite a few names of children evacuated to Barrow during World War II. Were you one of them? Do you know someone who was evacuated to Barrow? Being able to put faces and stories to names would be a fantastic resource for children studying that period of our history.
