Our Chair of Governors is a keen motorcyclist and on a recent trip took these photographs.
You might like to see these two pictures that I took on Wednesday. I went for ride on my motorcycle to the Elan Valley - anyone know where that is? These reservoirs normally only overflow in the winter. At this time of year the water is well below the dam, in fact sometimes 4 or 5 metres below. Spectacular isn’t it.
During the Summer Term one of our parents, Mrs Carol Fourie, has been running a Spanish Club for children in years 2 to 6. Click on the play button below to see the results of their work.
I have drawn a picture.
Can you guess what it is?
Leave your guess as a comment.
…there were seven planets. When I was a lad it was nine. At Barrow Primary School the pupils now know that there are TEN. (But are there any more?)
However, on a safer note, the pupils in Class 3 have been continuing their exploration - Earth and Space - and have been podasting their thoughts on the learning journey, in ICT, science and literacy. Enjoy, and hopefully, post a comment.

Steve was in ‘how to create a blog mode’ at one of the lunchtime seminars during the Shropshire IT Conference. Here he is, creating a blog at speed!
Barrow School presented a workshop on Webcams and Blogging. Mrs Barton gave a presentation on the use of Webcams and Blogging to enhance teaching and learning. Mr Fenton talked about the ‘techie’ aspects.
Two pupils, Alice and Tom, were at the conference whilst Lily and Mitchell used a live video link from school to demonstrate the use of Adobe Connect (nee. Macromedia Breeze).
Class 3 have been studying the Planets and have presented their research using Comic Life on Steve’s iBooks G4.

Class 3 have been creating information pages using Comic Life software on AppleMac G4 Notebooks. This was their first venture into the programme and was treated as a ‘have-a-play’ session. The results are pretty stunning.
Click on the links to view the work. Some of them are incomplete, but still worth looking at.

The next stage is to use Comic Life to present information on Earth and Space with a chosen planet as the main theme.
Class 3 have been composing pieces of music inspired by The Planets Suite by Gustav Holst.
We have provided links to four of the pieces:
Composing was carried out using Finale NotePad, a free programme from http://www.finalemusic.com/notepad/ which will print scores and playback music.
The Finale files were recorded into Audacity, yet another free programme http://audacity.sourceforge.net/download/ and converted into MP3 files (this requires the addition of a programme called LAME which can be downloaded from the Audacity link). These files were uploaded to digitalbrain and linked to this article on the Barrow Blog.
